About clare.....
Clare is a self taught artist who lives in Buckinghamshire with her husband, two children and cat Domino. As a teenager, Clare excelled at art in school and loved drawing her favourite subject at the time - horses and animals. After gaining her A level in art, it was off to university to study nursing and art unfortunately took a back seat.
However, after a long break, she found new inspiration to pick up her pencils again when her children were born.
"I was obsessed by my little boys face, I couldn't get enough of it! So one day I picked up a biro and some plain print paper and started sketching him."
She quickly found her stride again with graphite (an old friend) and began drawing regularly. Word got around quickly about Clare's drawing ability and friends began to request pictures of their children. Very soon her portrait business Baby Face Art was born and has been growing ever since. In 2011, Clare decided to resign from her job as a District nurse and focus solely on Baby Face Art. It has steadily been gathering momentum and she has had commissions of people, children and pets from all over the world.
Not content with doing her portrait commissions, Clare was keen to expand her horizons and experiment with different mediums and surfaces. Whilst confident with graphite, pastel and coloured pencil, Clare has been experimenting with watercolour Gouache and acrylics also. She finds inspiration in the beauty and majesty in horses still to this day and they remain one of her favourite subjects. More recently birds of prey and African mammals have been muses.
